After years working high-net-worth divorces — paying close attention to what actually went wrong in these marriages long before the lawyers got involved — I came to a hard realization. It isn’t just the divorce system that’s broken. It’s a lot of men in today’s society, too.
I watched it happen again and again: successful, charming, intelligent men repeating the same patterns from case to case, and ending up divorced because of them. Heroes and leaders in business — who neglected to be heroes and leaders at home.
Then I watched those same men get steamrolled. Making bad decisions. Refusing to be strategic. Trying to be “nice” by handing her whatever she asked for — as if that would be rewarded. It never worked. They lost everything.
The system is not fair. And these men forgot the one thing that matters most: richness is a quality, not a quantity of money.
A man has a duty to protect and provide.
I believe a man can and should protect what he’s built — for the betterment of his family and his legacy. I believe he should see the big picture in a divorce and make strategic decisions: exit the process with as little cost, time, and damage as possible, keeping his core assets intact and divorcing as amicably as the situation allows.
Sometimes that means settling early and paying a little more. Sometimes it means all-out legal warfare. A man should be capable of both — and know which one the moment calls for.
But Stay Rich is bigger than divorce. I believe a man has a duty to care for his loved ones and build a rich life worth enjoying. That means earning and building assets. It means investing in himself — physically, mentally, emotionally. It means raising kids who will lead rich lives of their own, learning it from their parents, and for boys, from their fathers.
